When I first started publicly blogging, it became this outlet for me where I could play a social butterfly. A nice change for me since I can be so painfully shy in real life. In reality, I am the girl who drives herself crazy dissecting everything she says and does in social situations. But online I could talk to people I didn't even know, spin everyday events into funny tales, and know that over 100+ people cared about what I have to say. And that felt good, really good, for a while. In the last couple of months, I started feeling obligated to blog. I felt guilty when I went more than a few days without posting, and I would worry if I felt an entry wasn't up to par. I would worry about what I was going to blog next. I also got caught up in my stats, comments, and followers. Which is a good way to suck the fun out of blogging all together. It all felt very suffocating. Although I have to admit I put myself in that position, but I can be smart enough to take myself out of it.
So although going private (or in this case relocating) was a totally essential move for my future career. It also feels like a good move for me. It feels like I can kind of relax a little bit. Get back to what blogging should be about for a 24 year old lady. If I don't blog for a few days-who cares. If I simply want to write a little bit about what is going on in my head, instead of trying to be amusing-I can. I will blog about my "feelings" or whatever else comes to mind. I will still be my funny self-yes. But I'm going to use blogging like I always wanted to. I'm not going to worry about followers/comments and just keep up with the bloggers I've come to adore.
So here's to a whole new ride. *Cheers*
