I know its been a while since I wrote on here, but I had an awful week. First, I lost my footing in the house and wasn't able to catch myself when I fell. So I fell over like a twig in the wind. It was kind of hilarious. The first thing I said after I fell to A. was "You Can Laugh If You Want Too". It knocked the wind out of me in the moment, but I was basically fine. When I woke up the next morning, every single muscle in my entire body hurt, even my pinky! And worse of all, I believe I reactivated my tailbone injury that I got in 2006 (which took two years to heal last time). I couldn't even get out of bed without A.'s help for three days. It was pathetic. I felt like an old person. Thankfully, I'm finally feeling better, except for my tailbone.
But worst of all, last week was a week of drama with my brother in sister-in-law. It was a week that exhausted me so much that I don't have the energy to talk about it. But the gist of it all is this my sister-in-law has cirrhosis of the liver and when my mother wouldn't give my brother money, so he could stay in a hotel and not on the streets, he threatened her life. Believe it or not, I feel a lot better now. It's like I've processed it, compartmentalized it, and moved on. Just another week in the world of addiction. None of it is unexpected.
This weekend was the weekend of the Long Beach Grand Prix, so the town was crowded and we could hear the buzzing of the race cars all weekend long (sounded like a hive of bees). Since A. and I are allergic to crowds, we spent the whole weekend mostly hanging around the house, other than running a few errands. On Friday, I cooked us up a banquet, I'm not even kidding. I made chicken stuffed with cheese wrapped in bacon, homemade mashed potatoes, and homemade mock red lobster cheddar bay biscuits (I'm going to post the recipe later on this week). Plus, we had two chocolate cupcakes for desert! Even for a cheat day, that was a whole lotta food. We felt like stuffed pigs, and couldn't even get up off the couch.
On Saturday, I went to Michael's to pick up some supplies that I needed to complete a project. Michael's is potentially dangerous for my mental health, since I spend a lot of time in that store talking out loud to myself like a nut job. Not even kidding. What is it about Arts & Crafts stores that unleashes my crazy? Once I got home, I set about painting our monogrammed letters that I bought and wanted to hang in our living room, while watching the movie Country Strong. The movie was really good, but let's face it I only watched it to see what hair piece Tim McGraw was wearing this week. Although I was highly disappointed because it hadn't changed much since he did The Blind Side. Love the man, amused by his hair piece (they should write that on his tombstone).
Oh and I napped a lot and played a lot of De Blob 2 on the Xbox. I'm not a gamer, but I love that game. Think animated coloring book. All in all it was a fab weekend.

Sorry to hear about the family drama. As the sister of a recovered (are they ever fully recovered I wonder?)herion addict, I know full well how it can be when things don't go their way. Their point of view on things is definitely a little off.
I'm glad your weekend ended better than the week started. :)
I'm sorry about the family stuff but I am really glad you were able to enjoy time with Adam even with the tailbone injury! Michaels is my favorite place too- I have to stay away from there!
I'm so sorry about your brother and his drama but I'm glad you're compartmentalizing it. Your nephew is in a safe place and that is the #1 thing. I think it must make these dramas a lot easier to deal with now, just knowing he's away from it.
That food sounds amazing. Match and I are allergic to big crowds too. Ouch about the fall, no bueno. I LOVE the A& B with your wedding picture. Adorable. Michaels is definitely a place I unleash my inner crazy too. I have literally wandered in that store for hours. Especially around Christmas.
Oh man, those biscuits look totally drool-worthy! I'll be looking forward to that recipe! And I love the redo of the tv corner--the letters and wedding pic are adorable. I'm so sorry about the bummer parts of the week. I'm glad you had some good stuff to take your mind off of the bad.
