The Royal Wedding Hoopla

Let me tell you a story about a young girl who used to be in love with Prince William. And friends that young girl was me. I don't know if I was in love with Prince William or just in love with the idea of being a princess. But regardless of the reason, I did used to ogle pictures of him. At the time, I could care less about Prince Harry. Unfortunately, he had his father's ears, and I've never been very attracted to gingys.  But the joke is on me because good old Harry grew into his ears, and William became the less hot one in my opinion.

I had forgotten all about this crush until William and Kate announced their engagement. It was kind of nostalgic for me, although maybe a bit sad because I realized my dream of growing up to be a Princess would never be actualized. But after the announcement of the engagement, I quickly lost all interest in all the hoopla surrounding the royal wedding. I mean I understand they are royalty, but don't people realize they are just people? And yet people were lining up to buy memorabilia and all that nonsense.

Then, a few days ago for some odd reason, I got all excited about the royal wedding. And when I get interested in something, I get obsessed. So I've been catching documentaries on the British, Will & Kate, and even Prince Harry.  I now know everything there is to know about that darn wedding.  For example, I know that they are bringing in trees to line the inside of the Abby. TREES. So clever. Didn't see that one coming. Also, awesome Prince Harry is bringing in bacon sandwiches at 6 a.m. to anyone at the "Survivor's Party." That makes me sad that I never gave Harry a fair shake. He sounds just like my cup of tea (Get it TEA, tea is just so British).

Right now, I'm watching the lifetime movie on William & Kate, but I'm about to to bed. I'm not obsessed enough to stay up for the Royal Wedding, just obsessed enough to DVR it. However, if I was still in Alabama with my girlfriends, I would definitely stay up with them and have a Royal Wedding Breakfast Party where everyone had to wear a fancy hat. Everything is better when you wear a fancy hat.

*Update* I ended up staying up all night to watch, I don't know how that one happened. But worth it. Though I do have to wonder how many people at the Royal Wedding do you think are mad because they are sitting behind someone in a huge hat?
